What is love? (Experiencing real love)

Love is a universal concept, yet it can be challenging to define. Love is more than just an emotion or feeling; it is an action that is manifested in how we treat others. As a language model trained by OpenAI, I have interacted with various individuals, cultures, and belief systems. In my interactions, I have come to learn that love is not just a philosophical concept, but it is a practical way of life. As a missionary in South Sudan during the war that is caused by tribalism, I saw firsthand the devastating effects of hate and division. The people were displaced from their homes, lost loved ones, and had their lives changed forever. The war had caused a divide between communities, and people who had once lived in harmony were now enemies. As a team of missionaries, we visited the different tribes and tried to bring them together. We told them about love, and how it can heal wounds, restore relationships, and bring peace. It was not easy to convince people who had been hurt and t...

Overcoming fear and doubt.

Fear and doubt are two of the most common barriers that keep people from living with faith. They can cause us to second-guess our decisions, hesitate to take risks, and prevent us from fully living out the Gospel message. But there is good news – the Bible is filled with guidance on how to overcome fear and doubt and live a life filled with faith. In this blog, we'll explore some of the key passages and principles that can help us to overcome these obstacles and live more fully in God's grace. First and foremost, it's important to recognize that fear and doubt are natural human emotions. Even the most faithful believers can experience moments of uncertainty and apprehension. In fact, many of the great biblical figures – from Moses to David to Mary – faced moments of doubt and fear. The key is not to let these emotions paralyze us, but to turn to God for guidance and strength. One of the most well-known passages on fear and doubt is found in the Gospel of Matthew. In chapter...

My Missionary Life. Part 1: The Early Life

My name is William Wanyende, and I am a missionary kid and a pastor's kid. I was born in Mfangano Island, Kenya, where my parents were Pastors before moving to Uganda. Growing up, I was exposed to the world of missions and ministry from a very young age. My parents served as missionaries with Youth With A Mission (YWAM) in Uganda, and I spent most of my childhood in the country. Looking back, I realize that God had placed a calling (In the Bible, the word “call” is used most often to refer to God's initiative to bring people to Christ and to participate in his redemptive work in the world.) in my life at a young age. Even as a child, I felt drawn to the idea of missions and preaching the gospel to others. I remember preaching to trees and rocks while copying other pastors, and it was during these moments that I first started to see myself as a missionary. Well, this call just reminds me of 1 Samuel 3, where God is calling Samuel. I pray that as you read my story and you're ...

However, God loved us so much that He sent His only Son, Jesus Christ, to die for our sins. By putting our faith in Jesus, we can hav...

The Beauty Of Humility

Humility is often seen as a weakness in today's society. People often equate success with being loud, boastful, and assertive. However, in the gospel teachings of Christianity, humility is seen as a virtue that is necessary for leadership. The concept of servant leadership emphasizes the importance of putting others first and leading by serving them. The idea of servant leadership is not new. It is a concept that has been around for centuries and is rooted in the teachings of Jesus Christ. In the Gospel of Mark, Jesus teaches his disciples that "whoever wants to be first must be last of all and servant of all" (Mark 9:35). This passage illustrates the importance of humility and serving others in leadership. Humility is the foundation of servant leadership. It is a quality that allows a leader to recognize their limitations and weaknesses. A humble leader acknowledges that they do not have all the answers and seeks the input and feedback of others. They are open to learn...

"Living a Life of Purpose:

As humans, we all have an innate desire to find meaning and purpose in our lives. It's a quest that spans across generations and cultures, and one that has driven some of the greatest achievements in history. However, in today's fast-paced and often chaotic world, it can be challenging to identify and pursue our true purpose. Fortunately, the Gospel offers valuable wisdom that can help us navigate this journey and find meaning in our lives. The first step towards living a life of purpose is to recognize that we were created for a specific reason. The Bible tells us that God has a plan for each of our lives and that we were fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14). This means that our unique skills, passions, and experiences were all crafted with a purpose in mind. Therefore, to discover our purpose, we need to understand ourselves better and identify what makes us come alive. One way to do this is by seeking God's guidance through prayer and reflection. We can ask Hi...
